Okay, so picture this. FromSoftware sneaks up on us with Elden Ring Nightreign updates like it’s some kind of stealth mission. You just log off thinking it’s a slow news day, right? WRONG. Boom, suddenly there’s an update, and you’re left sipping your coffee like, “Wait, what?”
Alright, so they promised some stuff—duos mode, spicier fights with these Nightlords. But hey, we’re still waiting on those Duo Expeditions. Meanwhile, out of nowhere, they drop this thing called Everdark Sovereigns. It’s like they woke up and decided, “Let’s just mess with the players today.”
So late yesterday, gamers found out the first of these monsters is here, just strutting around like it owns the place. There’s a blog, probably written with as much surprise as we feel, explaining these bad boys are tougher versions of Nightlords. I mean, who even asked for this kind of difficulty?
And here’s the kicker: every week, a new Everdark Sovereign will swap in. But catch this—only those who beat the original Nightlord get to try. You’ve got Adel, the Sovereign of Gaping Jaws, terrorizing players right now. Next, it’ll be Sentient Pest, then the Darkdrift Knight showing up like, “Hey, miss me?”
Now, more Sovereigns are in the pipeline. Tricephalos, Augur—yeah, the whole gang. They’ll turn up eventually. Adel’s hanging around until June 25. So you’ve got time, I guess, if you feel like getting crushed.
Oh, and an NPC’s landed in the game, dealing out Sovereign Sigils for beating these bosses. Trade those in for Relics and whatnot. Plus, this NPC lets you redo the Shifting Earth stuff. Costs you Sigils, but hey, saves you from hunting down three Nightlords first.
I bet there’s more surprises waiting as players dig into these, let’s say, ‘enhanced’ challenges. Still trying to beat them? Check out our guide for Nightreign’s Nightlords because going in blind is just a fast track to frustration.
Lost in all of this? Our Elden Ring Nightreign guide’s got your back. Happy gaming, or, you know, good luck with the rage quitting.
