Oh man, okay, so here’s the deal. Ghost of Yotei is like that game you’ve been dreaming about since forever. Or at least since Ghost of Tsushima. And before you ask, yes, I’m back to playing that on PC. Don’t judge. It’s like comfort food at this point. Anyway, Ghost of Yotei. The State of Play went all out and I’m convinced this sequel is gonna be killer. Literally, because blood. More on that in a second. The visuals? Insane. I almost feel like my PS5 might just explode. Or maybe that’s just me being dramatic.
So, let’s dive into the meat of things—Revenge. Sweet, sweet revenge. We’re talking Atsu, who’s apparently this ghostly avenger hunting down the Yotei Six. Super intense stuff. Forget samurai codes and all that honorable jazz. This is about vengeance and it’s personal. Playable flashbacks too! Because we all need a good cry every now and then. Probably.
Open world, right? And I’m talking about real exploration here. None of that to-do list nonsense you get with other games. Oh, and bounties like in Red Dead Redemption. I could go on and on, but you get it. And weaponry? We’re spoiled for choice. I mean, dual katanas? Yes, please! The gore? A tad excessive, but we’re all here for it. Mixed in there, she’s got bows, guns, and some weapons I’m too lazy to Google but sound awesome—like a Suragama. That’s got a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
Did I mention the campsites? Totally unexpected. Makes me wonder if I can roast marshmallows. Probably not, but the thought lingers. Hunting is a thing too, I guess, alongside the usual steam baths. Might sound mundane, but the customization might be nuts. We’ll see.
Oh, also—hardware! Limited edition PS5s and controllers. Gold and black. Kind of fancy, but the accessories? Still a mystery on when we can snag ’em. Crossing fingers they don’t disappear like hotcakes. Definitely something to keep an eye on.
And hey, don’t sleep on the audio stuff. There’s Kurasowa Mode, which, let’s be honest, makes you feel like a total samurai. Or cowboy, since Shinichirō Watanabe is on board with some lo-fi beats. Samurai Champloo anyone? Anyway, the soundtrack’s already teasing us on Spotify.
Mark the date—October 2. PS5 will be the host for our next adventure with Ghost of Yotei. Anticipation’s building, and honestly, I’m ready for it. Aren’t we all?
