Okay, so there’s this PS3 game, right? Haven’t seen it for ages since, like, 2013. Could pop up on PS5, or maybe not. Honestly, not sure what to believe, but there’s this rumor… Techland’s apparently cooking up a new “Call of Juarez” on Unreal Engine. Wild, huh?
So, this dude Tom Henderson — kind of like the unofficial guardian of gaming gossip. You might’ve heard of him. He’s spilled the beans on a supposed sequel bubbling away for God knows how long. But here’s the kicker — Techland’s not exactly surfing on a wave of success lately.
They’ve dropped the ball on not one, but TWO games. Hello, losses. We’re talking a neat $37 million down the drain by 2024. Oh, and don’t forget the $25 million they burned through a year before that. One of those scrapped babies? Supposedly a fantasy action RPG. Whatever that means.
But hey, there’s a silver lining. Or, well, Techland’s trying to spin it that way. They piped up, all “Game development’s not a straight line, y’know?” and something about needing fresh ideas and such. Guess that’s easier to say when no one’s getting canned.
Quick rewind: Remember when Ubisoft was in the mix? They put out two games, one in 2006 and then “Gunslinger” in 2013. But by 2018, Techland snagged the rights back. So, here we are, waiting to see if lightning strikes thrice.
Anyway, things are up in the air, and who knows if we’ll see this on PS5. Could be wishful thinking, or Henderson might actually be onto something. Stay tuned, I guess.
