Okay, so let me try to get this out there. There’s this big update on the horizon for Monster Hunter Wilds. It’s Title Update 2, and Capcom gave us a good look at this during their June Spotlight thing. And wow, there’s a lot to unpack.
First off, mark your calendars—Monday, June 30 is the day. Though, early birds beware, ’cause there’s some maintenance hoopla that’ll make it a no-go for a bit.
Now, onto the juicy stuff—new monsters! Oh yes, Lagiacrus and Seregios are making their grand entrance. Lagiacrus brings underwater combat to the mix. Kind of throws you off when you can’t swing your weapon freely, huh? You gotta finish up some big mission called A World Turned Upside Down and a side gig called Forest Doshaguma, but only if you’re past Hunter Rank 31. Felt like a mouthful explaining that, honestly.
Seregios is stitched onto the same requirements—Hunter Rank 31 and all—same mission chatter. Both these beasts offer new armor sets. Fancy whipping up some gear from their remains? I know, it sounds weird but satisfying in a hunter kind of way. Oh, and if you’re all about hardcore stuff, check out the Tempered versions at HR 41. They’re roaming somewhere, probably plotting against us.
Speaking of tough, there’s this Arch-tempered Uth Duna coming along, but that’s not until July 30. Gotta be HR 50 for that sucker. It’s part of a big Event Quest and all.
The craft scene’s getting shaken up too—finally, you can make your weapon look like another one without losing its stats. Layered weapons, they call ’em. Mix and match as long as you’ve grinded your way to the end of any weapon tree. Artian Weapons can be layers too, but you gotta pimp them up to Rarity 8. Rules, right?
Oh, and you can switch your handler from Alma to Erik. Maybe you have a thing for handlers—I dunno. Plus, there’s a support hunter, just strolling around with a Sword & Shield, ready to jump in.
And then, there’s the Festival of Accord: Flamefete in late July. New armor? Check. Decorations? Check. Weird special meals at the cantina? Double check. The Grand Hub will look fab in its new theme, trust me.
One more thing before I forget—Title Update 3 is looming somewhere in September. Another monster and a Festival of Accord? Capcom’s busy, I guess.
Honestly, Wilds is kinda rocky right now, if we’re keeping it real. Its popularity nosedived on Steam. Even Monster Hunter World from 2018 is scoring better daily numbers. Hope Title Update 2 helps, or at least gives the players something to cheer about.
Phew, that’s all. Keep your fingers crossed for the game, maybe?
