Oh wow, hero shooters, right? They’re all about these wacky, colorful characters. You know, the kind that’s like halfway between a comic book and your favorite Saturday morning cartoon. Marvel Rivals, yeah, it’s got a bunch of them. But hey, it’s not just about blasting away. Nope, there’s a whole bunch of lore packed in there too — sometimes I wonder if they sneak it in through the back door.
And what’s the deal with the Winter Soldier? You’d think you know him — sidekick to Captain America, presumed dead but, surprise, he’s not. Instead, the Soviets snatch him up, give him the old brainwash treatment, and turn him into their super assassin. It’s like, “Hey, what if our backstories had extra side quests?” And now they’re topping it up with even more wild stories in Marvel Rivals.
If you dig deep enough — like, really dive in there — you’ll find Bucky getting more than he bargained for. Picture this: Bucky’s on this mission to mess up Hydra’s secret lair when bam! He’s getting his arm torn off. Next thing, he’s inside some weird tank, and out come these squid-like tentacles. Why squid tentacles? I have no idea, but it’s happening.
Just when you think he’s toast, Hawkeye swings by — because why not? They bust out of there, but not before chopping off Bucky’s new tentacle arm to stop some kraken from another dimension. Yeah, sounds like your average Tuesday, right? And then they’re off to some other universe’s Wakanda. I mean, alternate universes are apparently where it’s at these days.
And get this — they fit him with a new arm there, fancy cybernetics and all. Probably compensating for the fact that the universe keeps ripping limbs off, I guess. It’s like, look out, he’s got new skills now.
It’s like every character in Marvel Rivals has had their backstory thrown in a blender. Captain America? Wakes up in the 2080s, rocking a futuristic look. But I swear, Bucky’s in a league of his own, with all his new tricks. Whatever the usual Marvel stuff is, this isn’t it. Makes you wonder what else they’ll pull out of their hat next.
Anyway, superheroes and chaos, am I right? It’s a mixed bag of confusion and awesomeness. At least, that’s how it feels from where I’m sitting.
