Matthew Griffin, who leads the marketing and publishing efforts for Silksong at Team Cherry, took to Twitter to put fans’ minds at ease. A few folks were anxious that their trusty old Switch might miss out. His message was clear and straightforward: “Just to clarify… Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to both Nintendo Switch AND the Nintendo Switch 2.” With that, in typical Team Cherry style, he vanished back into the shadows, offering no further details.
This is a relief for the countless Switch owners out there, especially those who balked at the thought of splurging on a Switch 2, especially considering the latest price announcement. With the new console’s pre-orders delayed in the US due to fresh tariffs, shelling out for one could be challenging for Silksong enthusiasts. So, if you’re looking forward to playing Silksong, sticking with or buying an original Switch might just be your most budget-friendly choice for now.
Interestingly, the momentum for Silksong is building up again. The recent Nintendo Switch 2 direct provided our first solid update in a while, offering a (drumroll, please) fresh batch of screenshots, courtesy of Nintendo. It might not be much, but it’s certainly better than scouring the internet for hidden clues in cake recipes, which was all fans had to go on.
