Alright, so I stumbled on this thing about Nintendo and Lego, right? Turns out, they’re partnering up again—like, isn’t it crazy how they keep doing this Lego magic? Anyway, they’ve got this Lego set, and it’s based on the OG Game Boy. I mean, who doesn’t get hit with the nostalgia waves just hearing that? So, they first gave us a hint about it back in January. Fast forward, and now you can totally pre-order this on Lego.com for like sixty bucks. Mark your calendars or whatever though, ’cause it officially drops on Oct 1st.
So, here’s the nerdy breakdown—421 little Lego bits to basically recreate the Game Boy. I heard it’s almost a spot-on match to the actual one, just slightly tinier. Makes you wonder why they didn’t go full scale, right? Oh, and there are these swap-out Game Boy cartridges too, built from bricks of course. Think you’ll recognize ‘em from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land. It even has these changeable lenticular screens. Like, how neat is it that you can sorta ‘swap’ screens to show off that iconic Nintendo start screen or some epic game moments?
But don’t get too hyped—it’s not actually gonna play real games or light up with cool sounds or anything. It’s pretty much something you build, then stare at longingly, imagining pixelated adventures.
Nintendo and Lego even went old-school, bringing out a vintage-style ad for this thing. I mean, why not go the whole nine yards with the nostalgia vibes, right? If you want a peek, check out some pics they’ve put up and just bask in the pure Lego joy.
