Oh wow, so Decemberborn Interactive is doing this thing — Cathedral: Crow’s Curse for the Switch. I mean, who saw that coming? Crow, this Shade Sentinel guy — if I remember right, he popped up in the first game, right? So, these spooky woods (I know, sounds cliché) are all out of whack, and Crow’s gotta dive headfirst into this mess, you know? Cursed forests, ruins nobody’s talked about for ages… classic adventure stuff.
So, they’re talking about the combat being all about speed and skills. Guess you’ll have to dodge, block, and time your strikes like you’re in some dance-off—only with monsters. Oh, and stealth! You can sneak by or do the whole ninja backstab routine. I like a bit of sneakery. Who doesn’t?
Eric Lavesson from Decemberborn (he’s kind of a big deal there) chimed in. Something about how they’re totally into making games that hit home with players. He’s all excited about being back in Cathedral’s world — sounds like it’s their baby, you know? Hope we see that enthusiasm in every little pixel.
The game’s got these cool features:
There’s combat that’s sharp and quick. Enemies that’ll test you, so you better learn their moves and zen out with those dodges and parries. Sounds intense, right?
The world’s designed to be all seamless and interconnected. No idea how they pull that off, but it’s supposed to add to the experience.
Stealth and tactics? Oh yeah. Sneakiness is rewarded, whether you’re slipping past baddies or lunging from the shadows. I think they even mention enemies’ senses — sight, sound, maybe even smell? That’d be wild.
And then, of course, you’ll find upgrades and new skills, so you can beef up Crow with all sorts of nifty powers. Exploration should be more fun with those.
So, supposedly this is coming out on the Nintendo eShop for the Switch. No clue about the exact date, though. Guess we’ll be waiting on that one.
There’s a trailer too, but I’m kind of over trying to embed video links. Go find it, if you’re curious.
