Alright, so here’s the thing about Stellar Blade. I remember when it first came out last year – totally unexpected hit, right? I mean, who saw that coming? Wait. Uh, let’s just jump into when this stuff is happening. So, get this, PlayStation’s YouTube slipped up, dropped a whole trailer. Of course, it vanished pretty quick, but not before some eagle-eyed fans grabbed it and slapped it onto Reddit. June 11 is the magic day for the Stellar Blade PC debut. Complete Edition’s dropping then too on both PS5 and PC – same day, keep it in your calendar if that’s your thing.
What’s in this Complete Edition, you ask? Well, it’s packed with all sorts of goodies for newcomers. You get the full game – duh – along with this Planet Diving Suit, which is apparently for a character named Eve. There are some fluffy bear drone things? Sounds weirdly cute for a game title like “Stellar Blade.” And there’s DLC nodding at Nikke and Nier: Automata. Oh, and if you jump on the preorder train, they’ll throw in some classic round glasses, ear armor earrings – didn’t know that was a thing but sure, why not – and another suit for Eve in white. Fashionable, right?
But yeah, still waiting on the price tag for all this. Feels like any day now we’ll get the scoop. Keep your wallets ready, I guess? The accidental trailer drop kinda hints that info’s coming.
Anyway, remember how Stellar Blade wowed everyone last year? Oh, Metacritic slapped an 81 on it from 134 critics. Not too shabby, huh? And yeah, it rubbed elbows with big guns during award season. Snagged Best New Character in PS Blog’s Game of the Year, even grabbed some spotlight at The Game Awards.
Sales? Holy smokes, they were through the roof. Shift Up went and surprised their employees with a fat bonus – 5 million won, about $3,400 if you’re stateside – and a PS5 Pro. So yeah, seems like they’re doing alright for themselves.
