Oh wow, okay, so Nintendo just dropped this hotfix for the Switch. It’s like they pushed an update to Version 20.0.0 and suddenly, boom, things went haywire. Crashes everywhere—oops. People were kinda losing it. I mean, you wait forever for these updates, and then they tank your console? Yikes. Anyway, Nintendo jumped on it pretty quick, gotta give them that.
So, this update was sorta a big deal because it brought in GameShare. But, funny thing, only the Switch 2 can host this magic trick. The OG Switch folks can play games they don’t even own now. Mind-blowing, right? But then, chaos ensues with glitches, and consoles just giving up and refusing to boot. Error Code: 2206-1015, if you’re keeping track.
But hold up, there’s a fix now! To get your Switch back in action, you’ve got to dive into Maintenance Mode. Power off (duh), hold those volume buttons (up and down simultaneously), and hit power. You’re in! Then just do the system update thing. Ugh, but don’t forget if you’ve got that Parental Control PIN. I can totally see myself forgetting. Typical.
Oh, and there’s this Virtual Game Card thing too. You can beam a game to another device. Like, Star Trek style. Super nifty for when Switch 2 comes out, you know… whenever that happens in your country. Speaking of, bad news for some. Folks in Central America and the Caribbean, yeah, the Switch 2 isn’t showing up until 2026. Seriously? I guess Nintendo figures it’s not worth the hassle there yet. Ouch.
So there you go. Updates, crashes, and loooong waits. Who’s ready for more video games?
