Okay, so I stumbled across this wild footage of Borderlands 4 that 2K and Gearbox just dropped. And here’s the kicker: it’s going to be on the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. Crazy, right?
First off, we get a sneak peek at two (count ‘em, two) of the totally new Vault Hunters. There’s Vex, who’s this all-powerful Siren – think magical warrior vibes – and then there’s Rafa, an ex-soldier with a tricked-out exo-suit. I swear, the suit’s like something out of a sci-fi fever dream, with digi-weapons popping out all over the place. They apparently have a skill tree that blows the socks off anything we’ve seen before in Borderlands. Yeah, they said that.
And so, the story unfolds on this mysterious planet, Kairos. There’s this Timekeeper dude who’s been running the show, hiding the planet away with some high-tech wizardry. Bolts and robot soldiers are his jam for keeping everyone in line. You’re going to be roaming around this place, meeting all sorts of folks (some familiar, some not) and taking on crazy factions while you stir up some major trouble for Mr. Timekeeper. You’ll make pals and, well, not-pals. And guess what? These Vault Hunters? They’ve got weapons and skills that’ll make your jaw drop. They ain’t messing around.
Now, one of the cooler moments in the gameplay footage? Vex and Rafa were basically tearing stuff up in Terminus Range. Visualize a frozen, intimidating mountain scene. And the chaos they unleashed? Oh man, the new gear system looks nuts. We’re talking weapons from eight manufacturers. Eight! With a custom parts system, so they’re souping up the weapons with all sorts of fun stuff. It’s like a dream for tinkerers. Let’s not forget those massive grenades and whatever heavy stuff they’re cranking out. Plus, they threw in some handy healing gear to keep you in that fight a little longer.
Heads up, Borderlands 4 is dropping in 2025. It’ll be in stores and on the Nintendo eShop. Yeah, we still have a wait, but something tells me it’s gonna be worth it.
So yeah, mark your calendars, because this one’s shaping up to be an epic ride. Or at least, that’s what the hype train’s selling, but who knows, right?
