Okay, so here’s the deal. Picture this: a movie, and not just any flick, but one that’s been on everyone’s lips, about to crash headlong into… Monopoly Go? Yep. I kid you not. Marvel is jumping into bed with Scopely, bringing The Fantastic Four: First Steps right into the game realm.
Remember last year in September? Another Marvel hoopla went down. Well, this one’s kicking off on Sunday, July 13. Don’t ask me why it’s on a Sunday. Just is.
So, what’s in store? Well, the self-proclaimed “Marvel’s First Family” makes its grand entrance. Picture new in-game challenges, mini-games — the works. A Marvel portal opens up, like some interdimensional doorway between Monopoly Go and the Marvel world. Wild, right?
Here’s a taste of what’s coming:
Fantastic Racers – Imagine the Tycoon Racers event but jacked up on caffeine. Each Fantastic Four member revved up in a retro Fantasti-Car, with Herbie yelling encouragement from the sidelines. Dr. Doom decides to toss his hat in the ring with his “Overload!” twist. Chaos, but the fun kind.
Fantastic Partners Event – Team efforts galore. Collect these comic book-esque Fantasticoins to bring legendary characters like Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, The Thing, alive. Just typing it makes me think, “Wow, this is bonkers.”
Fantastic Treasures – Reed’s lab, all futuristic and stuff, waiting for you to dig up Marvel goodies like… oh, the Ultimate Nullifier, Silver Surfer’s board. What next? A coffee machine? (I wish.)
Deluxe Drop – Just imagine, the Fantastic Four, dropping in with cosmetics fans never knew they needed (or did they?). Slap on some Fantastic Four-themed gear for your Tycoon-self for this collaboration and… who knows, maybe beyond.
Coveted Collectibles – I guess the name says it all. Grab tokens, emojis, shields — the whole shebang.
Oh, but before I forget — if you’re ahead of the curve and it’s before July 13, there’s a different shindig going on called Aqua Partners. It’s wrapping up the same day the Marvel madness kicks off.
And if, by chance, Monopoly Go has slipped off your radar lately, now’s as good a time as any to dust it off and check out some Monopoly Go Dice Links for that July pep-up. Just a thought.
Ah, that’s it. I think. Marvel and Monopoly. Who knew?
