Sure thing! Let’s dive in, shall we? So, there’s this new outfit in Final Fantasy 14 called the Crystarium Rebel’s Attire. And guess what? Folks aren’t exactly thrilled. Why, you ask? Well, it seems this getup isn’t all that groundbreaking. Fans are irked because it looks a lot like stuff that’s already in the game. Yeah, they tossed in a couple of unique bits, but nothing mind-blowing. And get this – they’re charging real money for it. Sounds crazy, right?
Now, if you’ve ever browsed the Final Fantasy 14 online store, you’ll find a whole smorgasbord of goodies. Everything from mounts to minions and, of course, glamour sets. Some of these outfits, they replicate the looks of the game’s top characters like Y’shtola and the Leveilleur twins. Pretty neat, huh? But, I mean, what’s the deal with this new one?
So, this Crystarium Rebel’s Attire – that’s $12, mind you – is based on something Alisaie wears during the Shadowbringers expansion. It seems like a fine ensemble on its own, I guess. But here’s the kicker: you can almost replicate this very set using existing game gear. Some dude named Meppermint Pocha even showed how it’s done on BlueSky. Who’d have thought? You can use things like the Astral Silk Doublet and Angelic Thighboots, slap on Lady’s Knickers, and voilà! Almost the same look.
But hold up, there are teeny differences! The sleeves, for instance, they’ve got a different design – ooh, and the potions on the belt? They’re red, not blue or purple. Exciting stuff. Plus, this set uses two dye channels. Revolutionary, huh? You can even wear it regardless of class, unlike the original gear. Despite these minor quirks, fans are fuming about having to shell out money for it.
This isn’t exactly new. There’s history here, like with Iceheart’s Attire and the Crystarium Prodigy’s Attire. They too share looks with other gear, yet they’re sold on the cash shop. Each one for twelve bucks. So, what’s the chance they’ll change course now? Slim to none, I’d bet.
Honestly, the game’s been under fire for more than just this. Remember those Belt-leather sets? They got slammed not long ago. Too expensive, low quality, and bundling that made no sense. Fingers crossed, Final Fantasy 14 takes a breather and hears out its fans. Or else, more feathers will get ruffled.
